Veterinarians
Dr. Cindy Lizotte (Bilingual)
Dr. Cindy Lizotte graduated from the Université de Moncton: campus d’Edmundston in 1998 with a D.S.S. with honors and went to pursue her studies at the University of Montreal through the veterinary college located in St-Hyacinthe for which she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She also completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and graduated with honors in 2003. She has worked at the Elmwood Vet Hospital since 2001. In 2013, Dr Lizotte received her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). She also received certification from Chi Institute as a Chinese Veterinary Food Therapist (CVFT). In may 2013 she received a graduate degree in Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine (GDCVCM) from IVAS/Graduate Diploma in Vet Chinese Herbal Medicine and a graduate diploma in Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine (GDWHM). Dr Cindy Lizotte currently has 7 dogs: Louis, Emma, Haley, Falko, Tahoe, Suay and Sandy and is the proud mother of twin boys. |
Dr. Megan Turple
Dr. Megan Turple grew up in Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia. She spent the first two years of her Bachelor of Science degree at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and completed the remainder of her degree at Dalhousie University, graduating with a major in Marine Biology. She then completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island. Her areas of interest include diagnostic imaging, senior pet wellness, and preventative medicine. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys being active and playing sports, camping and spending time with her fur-children. She owns a silly pup, Stella and a spunky hedgehog named Big Ed. |
Dr. Nicole Robinson
Dr. Nicole Robinson has been a veterinarian for over 10 years. She is originally from Ontario, graduating from the University of Guelph, and has a background in Emergency Medicine. She has a sweet family of her own in Grande Digue, NB and we are happy she decided to join our team!

Jaya Szeto (RVT)
Jaya is from Amherst NS. She has a BSc degree from UPEI and is now living in Moncton to become a Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Oulton College in 2019. She has always had a love for animals and has even gone to Nicaragua with World Vets to help animals in need. She mostly spends time with her two dogs; Buffy and Nova. She plans to further her education in veterinary medicine and is grateful to be working at Elmwood Veterinary Hospital with their amazing staff. |
Kurt Bird (RVT) Kurt is a A.H.T that graduated from Nova Scotia Agricultural College's Animal Health Technology Program in 1994. He started working at the Elmwood Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 1994. He is a Registered Veterinary Technician. He loves his job and is very proud of the Elmwood Vet Hospital. |
Leah MacPherson (RVT), Practice Manager
Leah graduated of the Veterinary Technology program at Oulton College and she is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has been working at Elmwood Veterinary Hospital since November of 2016, and has valued the experience it has given her to pursue her career in Veterinary Medicine. She is from Saint John, NB but she currently lives in Lutes Mountain. She has one cat, Athena and a dog, Miller. She grew up with a love of animals, and she has a big place in her heart for all things furry, big and small. |
Brittany Lawrence (RVT)
Brittany graduated from Oulton College after completing her Veterinary Technician course. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician. Brittany grew up in Moncton, currently living in Dieppe with her dog Maverick and two cats, Abby and Avery. Animals of all kinds have been a big part of Brittany's life and she always knew she would work with them one day. Becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician and being able to help improve patient lives every day is a dream come true. |
Veterinary Assistants
Julia Peter Paul Julia from Elsipogtog, NB. Graduated from Eastern College in 2016 in the Veterinary Assistant program. She always knew she wanted to work with animals since she was young and she is very happy that she gets to do what she loves, with great people here at Elmwood Veterinary Hospital. Julia has 3 pets of her own, 2 cats (2-stroke, and Marley) and 1 dog (April). She is glad to be a part of the Elmwood Vet Hospital team, and is eager to go back to school in the next couple of years to further her education on animals. |
Lindsey Rodey
Lindsey Noble, currently on Maternity leave, was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. She moved to New Brunswick to attend Oulton college to become a Veterinary Assistant. After completing her on the job training for college, she was hired on full-time and now is part of the Elmwood family. Lindsey may continue her education to become a RVT in the further. Lindsey spends most of her spare time outdoors either camping or fishing the Miramichi River and of course cuddling her cat's Tulowitzki and Catrick Swayze, she also has an axolotl named Ned. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity and is very excited to be working along side the staff here at Elmwood Veterinary Hospital |
Kat Fontaine
Kat joined the Elmwood team in early 2016 after graduating from the Veterinary Assistant program at Eastern College. She has always wanted to work in the animal care field and so far it has been her proudest achievement. She feels the best parts about her job include assisting in surgery prep, learning new things every day, the friendships established and of course, when feeling down the opportunity to hug a puppy or kitten is never far! She loves her job and is thankful everyday to be a part of such an amazing Vet Hospital. |
Monica Cormier, Social Media Coordinator
Monica is a veterinary assistant graduate from Oulton College, that joined the team in 2018. Since she was 6 years old she has been riding horses, so when her love of animals just kept growing and wanting to learn more, she knew she wanted a rewarding career in animals. She is now very grateful to work with animals everyday and work with the amazing team. At home she is accompanied by her two dogs, Sierra and Heidi, her cat Madeleine, and horse Diamond. |

Samantha Burgess
Samantha grew up just outside of Saint John, NB and is a first year Veterinary Technician student at Oulton College. She loves to try new things and explore the outdoors. She also currently owns a few animals of her own (6!), including 3 cats, 2 dogs and a ferret. Starting at Elmwood in August 2020, she is looking forward to gaining more experience as she starts her career in Veterinary Medicine. |
